The Mayfield Trojans and Montwood Rams have battled four times on the gridiron, Trojans victorious in three of those games. It's a tough matchup for anybody, but one that Montwood Head Coach Chuck Veliz likes. Mayfield is a State Championship contender every year, and in their season opener, the Trojans defeated Chapin, 51-8. Montwood is weary of the Trojans. Head Coach Chuck Veliz said of the Trojans, "They are a great football team to begin with, they are a fantastic program, but I think this is one of the better teams they have had in a long time. I would be very surprised if they don't run through their district and crush everybody because they have a solid team, and we're going to have our hands full." Montwood against Mayfield, 7:00pm Thursday night at the Student Activities Complex.
