EL PASO - Police dealt with a strange situation today in Northeast El Paso.
They got a call from someone who said they saw a man with a gun, and somehow that report turned into a report of a possible kidnapping. That caused police to block off streets, and begin a search for the man and the person he may have kidnapped. In the end no one was taken, but police did find a gun in an alley.
"A long barreled firearm was seen and was actually recovered by police at this time. The people in the home at the 2800 block of hamilton are safe," El Paso Police Spokesman Darrel Petry said.
Police won't explain why they thought it was a kidnapping. We are told they're still investigating.
