CALIFORNIA - Same-sex marriages in California are on hold after an appeals court blocked the unions while it considers the constitutionality of the state's gay marriage ban.
Monday's decision trumps a lower court's order that would have allowed county clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples tomorrow.
