The man arrested and charged with the crime, Lorenzo Carreon. Police picked him less than 24 hours after the killing.
As we reported, the question of his sanity had been raised when Carreon was in court less than one month before.
Carreon had been accused of threatening two El Paso police officers and his attorney insisted that he was insane.
Neighbors told Newschannel 9 that Carreon and the victim had spent time together in the past.
There is one major question that hangs over this case. Who is the victim?
A week after the murder and police still have not been able to identify him. His head was so badly crushed by a baseball bat, he's unrecognizable.
Now, police are looking for your help to identify him. Without much else to go on, police say the victim has a tattoo of the name "Linda" on his right forearm.
They also have a limited description of him, saying that he was black, about 5'7" and his age was approximately 45 to 55 years old.
