EL PASO - For those of you not dreaming sweet dreams, you've got company.
El Paso Sleep Center has seen a 15% increase in the number of people looking to go under for the sake of getting a better night's sleep.
No medicine is actually involved; the center just provides a relaxing environment, if you ignore the wires.
El Paso's own sandman, Dr. Gonzalo Diaz, said in addition to the military recognizing sleep disorders as serious conditions, there are other reasons why the borderland has seen an increase.
"Well when you have stress, you have an increase in insomnia cases, and also El Paso has a very high percentage of overweight people," Diaz said.
Tonight at News Channel 9 at 10 we'll speak with a patient in the military who is embarking on his first sleep study this weekend.
