JUAREZ - It was a rare type of violence seen in Juarez today, around 300 Mexican federal agents fighting each other.
The struggle over corruption started after agents accused a Commander of the Federal Police of having drugs and weapons in his hotel room. We're told 250 agents tried stopping the Commander who is identified as Salomon Alarcon, but he hid in the hotel room under the protection of body guards and agents who were on his side. That commander was eventually pulled out of the room and arrested by the other agents who found him with a machine gun, cocaine, and marijuana.
A federal agent who, we're told, was protecting the commander was also arrested. During his arrest angry agents punched him, and even hit him with their guns.
In all, 6 federal agents had to be taken to the hospital. The commander, his bodyguards and some of the other agents are being held in Juarez while the situation is sorted out.
