Starting high school is usually a nerve-wracking experience for most kids, especially with the older students around. But that's not the case for one new school in far east El Paso.
El Dorado Ninth Grade Academy opened this week in the Socorro Independent School District.
Brand new computers, high-tech interactive white boards, and a campus that's constantly expanding are just a few bells and whistles.
But are they missing out on the total high school experience? Principal Troy Byrne says the students actually benefit from it.
"Freshmen tend to be overlooked," Byrne said. "We focus on sophomores passing the TAKS test, we focus on juniors and seniors entering college."
Tonight at 10 we'll talk to some students and see how they feel about the ninth-grade only system.
