Local employees of Family Dollar say the company is short changing them. They took their anger to the streets Saturday.
Chanting and carrying signs, workers protested in front of a northeast El Paso store.
They're accusing the company of unfair labor practices and claim stores falsely classify employees as store managers to deny them overtime pay.
Protestors also said they often work twelve hour days and don't get compensated for it.
"Better treatment to employees, actually safety because we are being robbed and we're being mugged inside the stores," said former employee Abel Lopez of what he was protesting. "So that's what we are demanding, fair labor practices."
We tried to speak with management of the Family Dollar store, but they were not able to comment.
