A 5 year-old Anthony, New Mexico girl is dead after what authorities are calling one of the worst child abuse cases they've seen in years..
The girl's mother, Jessica Barron is charged with child abuse resulting in death.
Dona Ana County Sheriff's tell us a 2 year-old sibling told investigators Barron hit the 5 year old with a stick until she fell asleep.
Investigators say the girl had multiple bruises and was unconscious when she was brought to Providence Hospital here in El Paso on Sunday.
An autopsy is now underway.
