Officers Say he Pretended to be Another Inmate
A Dona Ana County inmate now faces more charges after allegedly trying to escape by posing as another inmate. According to the Detention Center's incident report, Javier Molina claimed to be his cell mate Carlton Durant, who was set to be released.
Officers say Durant was sleeping at the time. During processing, officers noticed Molina's pictures didn't match up, but Molina was able to give all of Durant's personal information.
When later confronted about pretending to be someone else, records show that Molina stated, "I'm just trying to get out but you caught on, Durant is my roommate, I stole his info."
Molina now faces felony charges for trying to escape. You can see the full incident report by clicking on the attachments below.
