Two El Paso city leaders have received death threats. Police are scrambling to track down the culprit. The city public information office sent us a three sentence statement today today saying both Mayor John Cook and District 6 Representative Eddie Holguin received a threatening e-mail.
We know the e-mail was sent last night through the city website.
But staffers for both leaders did not receive the message until this morning. Those staffers alerted El Paso Police and now detectives are using computer technology investigators.
The e-mail did not say why Cook and Holguin are being targeted.
But we do know the e-mail contained the word *assassinate" in reference to both men.
The message also told the mayor and city rep that the e-mailer was *tracking your every move."
