Swine flu is reported on both sides of the border and health experts fear a pandemic.
Mexico reports several dozen deaths from the outbreak.
The virus has already spread to Texas but all victims have recovered.
Health experts are trying to determine if the Texas strain is related to the deadly one in Mexico.
The World Health Organization is worred about a swine flu pandemic but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is not willing to go that far.
Schools, museums, libraries, and state-run theaters are closed in Mexico City in hopes of containing the outbreak.
