El Paso Electric is warning its customers about a scam involving individuals posing as its employees.
A company spokesperson says the scammers are posing as representatives with El Paso Electric's Año Completo program and contact customers asking for a cash or money order for half of their electric bills for the last year.
The scammers claim that in return the customers will get a discount on their upcoming bills.
Anyone who thinks they've become the victim of this scam is asked to call Detective Stanley Hayes with the El Paso Police Department at 915-564-7133.
