Thursday, June 3: Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 30 points, as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics, 102-89. The NBA's two most storied programs meet for the 12th time for NBA World Title, the Celtics lead the NBA Finals series, 9-2. Pau Gasol chipped in 23 points and 14 rebounds in the Game 1 victory. Game 2 Sunday night in Los Angeles. Boston was led by Paul Pierce with 24 points, but Ron Artest led a gritty defensive effort by L.A. Boston was only 1-10 from three-point range, and turned the ball over 13 times. Kevin Garnett had 16 points for Boston. Ron Artest scored 15 for L.A.
