The USPS is not a failing service. It is unfairly mandated by Congress to to pre-fund future retiree health benefits at a rate of $5.5 Billion per year. This makes up 80% of the USPS budget deficit. No other government agency or corporation has this unreasonable, unrealistic burden. The USPS is not funded by taxes. Suggestions to dismantle the USPS, and privatize it, should address the the consequences: very high delivery rates for mail and packages shipped across America.
