The problem with angled diagonal parking is that both the person who is pulling out of an angled parking slot and oncoming traffic, for the most part, do not know how or when to yield. Everybody thinks they have the right of way and as a result nobody yields and accidents occur. I agree that parking is lacking downtown but that is usually the case in most cities. Angled parking is not the long term answer, in my opinion parking lots & centers with shuttle service is.
