Indoor cats will get fat on dry cat food. Cats are obligate carnivores and in nature would eat raw meat, not corn and wheat, which are the main ingredients in dry cat food. My cat is much more active and seems to be happier now that I am feeding him raw cut up chicken gizzards and breasts, supplemented with a cat vitamin every day. Leave the food out for 1 hour and then take up what he doers not eat. Feed 2 or 3 times a day. My cat has lost weight on this diet and gets all he wants to eat.
