You read/hear about Mexican "nationals" being arrested by the dozens (if not more) @ our border crossings hear in ELP for drug smuggling. You also read/hear about ELP citizens, law enforecement officers as well as politicians being arrested here in ELP for the same reason/s. Then you read/hear about arrests being made of people with ties to Mexican drug cartels in other cities. What you do not read/hear about often enough is the diminishing amount of drugs being consumed in our country. Celebrities and to some extent even politicians across the country have boasted about their drug use, and consuming drugs is still considered a "misdimeanor" in this country. I bet if users were being arrested and given long prison terms instead of suppliers, this whole drug phenomenom would be over in a heartbeat. But then again more than half our country would be in Jail. Sad but True
