A middle school student is recovering tonight after she's hit by a mini van when she was walking to school. It happened on Robert Alva Street near Henderson Middle.
Campus police say the driver hit the 12-year-old girl dragging her nearly 30 feet. The girl suffered cuts to her face and head.
The girl was using a crosswalk but the driver told police she didn't see the girl because the sun was in her eyes. Officers cited the woman for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian and having no license.
