Green grass is something we may no longer see in El Paso County Parks.
County Commissioner Dan Haggerty said, "we would very much like to give these parks to the city of El Paso but they are expensive to operate."
Some parks like Ascarate still have green grass.
But, cut backs on irrigation have already taken a toll on the healthy grass that was once growing on Westway Park.
Volunteer, Marcelino Delgado, has been working towards bettering his community park so that children in the neighborhood stay busy/
"I don't think it is fair because we are trying to create something positive for our community," Delgado said. "It is sad that they won't give us water."
Seven-year old Aneva goes to the park almost everyday, and she says that the park wouldn't be any fun if there were no grass to play on.
Commissioner Dan Haggerty said that he has listened very strongly to what his constituents are saying. He said that they do not ask him for parks rather, they care more about keeping their taxes down.
