EL PASO— An off-duty El Paso police officer and another person were arrested for possession of marijuana on Monday evening.
Robert Barragan, 32, and Crystal Robles, 32, were arrested by El Paso Police Department's detectives with the Narcotics Unit and the Special Investigations Group. Barragan is an 8-year veteran with the El Paso Police Department. EPPD officials said both possessed a usable amount of marijuana.
A total weight of 2.0 grams was seized within a home in the 3700 block of La Cuesta.
Police have booked both Barragan and Robles into the El Paso County Detention Facility on charges of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces.
Barragan's termination process has also begun after a meeting with Chief Greg Allen. Barragan is scheduled to meet with Allen again in April.
Barragan was assigned to the Central Regional Command Center as a patrol officer.
