It is really cool how people in an area can grow the sense of community, among the people in an area, as well as help those that need it.
Here in rural Hudspeth County, what we do is to congregate into small groups of 8 or 10, perhaps a dozen, and meet at someone's house for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners. Most of us that do this, are retired, and live hundreds of miles from any family, so our fellow homesteaders all become family. We become very close that way.
