Renewable energy is describing energy from a renewable SOURCE, one that is naturally replenished at a rate greater than or equal to its rate of use. Oil, coal, natural gas,..don't meet this condition and are not sustainable sources of energy at their current rate of use. I see how the term "renewable energy" could be a little misleading, so is your statement that the energy "will no longer be in existence". Please recall the Law of Conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created nor destroyed.
