An Irvin High School teacher was killed in Juarez, Friday morning.
That teacher killed has been identifed as James Patrick Barnes. He was a speech teacher at Irvin High School and his daughter tells Newschannel 9, he had taught at both Burges and Irvin over the past 10 years.
Chihuahua State Police tell Newschannel 9 that Barnes was reportedly in Juarez visiting relatives with his wife. Though Barnes' daughter says her mother and Barnes had been divorced for some time and her mother died two years ago.
Chihuahua State Police say that Barnes was killed while in the second story of the home. They say a group of armed men walked into the house and demanded his car.
Barnes may have argued with men. That's when we're told one of them put a gun under Barnes's chin and pulled the trigger.
Barnes died there on the scene.
His daughter says her father was a good man and a great father to his five daughters.
