A former Lower Valley youth minister will spend the maximum of 30 years in prison on child pornography charges.

Joe Tapia III will also have a lifetime of supervised release afterward.

It all started when a tip from a co-worker at the Excel Learning Center led federal investigators to search Tapia's work and home computers for child porn.

Tapia pled guilty back in October and admitted to having sexually explicit internet chats with multiple minors on both his work and home computers.

He also admitted to recording video and still images of two children while they were changing clothes prior to a church performance, though which church exactly hasn't been defined.
