Online gamer sends 11-year-old dirty download via his Xbox...

San Antonio, TX -- A Texas mother is outraged after her 11-year-old son was sent pornography by an online gamer he met while playing his Xbox.

"When they are playing against their friends, it's a controlled environment," explained mom Rosie Garcia. "But when they join a party, it can be someone in Japan, Australia, anywhere in the world."

Rosie's son sent a message to one of those players challenging him.

She says that player then sent her son the pornographic pictures.

Rosie immediately called the San Antonio Police Department.

She also called Xbox and gave them the GamerTag information on the accused predator.

Rosie didn't stop there.

She also went online and filed a complaint on the Xbox page.

This can only happen to your child if you pay for the Xbox online service.

If it happens to anyone in your family, the FBI encourages you to report it.

XBox does have parental controls. Maybe the parent should spend less time trying to get on the news and more time monitoring what her child is able to view.
BTW: Xbox live is NOT recommended for anyone below the age on 13 (the child is 11).

Lastly, there is NO way for anyone to access any content on the xbox outside of what the Microsoft allows b/c there is no web browsing.

So, this child is not only on xbox live w/o supervision, he is also on the internet w/o supervision? hmmm

The real story here is how this mother does not supervise her child. She lets the tv/video games/internet do it for her. Someone call child services. The xbox has LOTS of built in parental controls. I bet she has no clue how to use the v-chip in her TV. If she is unwilling to care for her child and wants companies/public/lawyers/internet/TV to do it for her then she doesn't deserve to have children.

And shame on KTSM news for such a worthless news story.

Who cares who makes what, the bottom line is no one should be making porn to be distributed, played or viewed where kids can get or have access.

Bottom line the porn industry is one the most successful industries in the world... Good luck getting it shut down.
Now if you were truly a parent, you would control what your child does if you really are that angry about it. Instead of lashing out at everyone else, why don't you take a look in the mirror and ask who is allowing your kid POSSIBLE access to porn anyways?
Welcome to the world, shielding your kids from things will hinder experience dealing with those issues themselves when older.

Hmm..... then I guess the entire internet; all mobile phones and tv all needs shut off and taken down because as long as any of those exist children will always have a chance of being exposed to pornagraphy. In this day in age you would be very hard pressed to find a child that hasn't been exposed to it in some form. I agree that it should never find its way to a child but there really isn't any way to do that; so parents need to be just that "parents" and educate your children.

Wow where are your editors....? And why do they receive a paycheck.........? The xbox is a microsoft product not nintendo; maybe this news station should do some research before writing a story..... just a thought.

This may help in the future.
