Workers at ballpark construction site are keeping safe
In the first four months of construction, workers at the site of El Paso’s new downtown ballpark have reported zero lost-time injuries while on the job.
In that time, more than 130 workers have completed demolition of existing structures, built a retaining wall around the north and west sides of the site, drilled hundreds of piles to support the facility, and begun pouring concrete foundations.
Eighty-six of the construction workers are employed by local construction firms. In addition, eleven local firms have been involved in the design of the project.
