The El Paso County Sheriff's Department is continuing to investigate a fatal crash that occurred in the 12900 block of Montana Vista Ave. in Montana Vista at approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

EPCSO Deputies say 24-year-old Annette Chavez of east El Paso was driving a gold 2008 Toyota Camry eastbound on Montana when her car veered off the road for an unknown reason. Chavez lost control of her Camry and crashed into a chain link fence, went airborne and rolled over once.

Chavez was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from her car as it rolled. When Deputies arrived on the scene, Chavez did not have any signs of life and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

We have learned that Chavez was a mother to three young children. Her cousin, Mary Gomez told NewsChannel 9 "Annette was a wonderful person and outstanding mother, sister, daughter, cousin and friend. She was full of energy and joy always with a smile she will be missed deeply and loved forever there's no other words I can put together of the wonderful person my family has lost."

Deputies say that speed and alcohol are not factors in this crash.
