Woman Charged in Monday Stabbing
Las Cruces — A woman suspected of stabbing her boyfriend during an argument Monday evening has been arrested and charged with a third-degree felony.
Twenty-seven-year-old Rebecca M. Gomez is charged with one count of aggravated battery against a household member. Las Cruces Police say Gomez’s 36-year-old boyfriend received a relatively minor stab wound to his arm. His injury is not considered life-threatening.
Las Cruces Police detectives learned that Gomez and her boyfriend were drinking alcohol at his home Monday evening when the two got into an argument. Shortly before 11 p.m., they started to leave when Gomez is alleged to have stabbed her boyfriend once in his right arm.
The man was able to call 911 and Las Cruces Police officers located Gomez as she was walking away from the residence.
Gomez was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bond set at $10,000.
