EL PASO- New spring and summer watering schedules started today in El Paso.

If you don't stick to the watering schedule a fine of up to $500 and a misdemeanor citation is possible.

No one is allowed to water lawns on Mondays. If you have an even-numbered address, your watering days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Odd numbered addresses water on Wednesdays Fridays and Sundays. All watering must be done before ten in the morning ... or after six in the evening. The cooler temperatures during those hours helps ensure water actually makes it to the yard and is absorbed by the soil.

Cities all over the world are modeling their water conservation habits based on the the Sun City's policy because our desert community with E.P.W.U. have proven they are willing to stick to the watering schedule and minimize our water footprint.

The El Paso City Ordinance will be in effect until September 30, 2013.
