EL PASO - A spokesman for the City of Socorro says investigators are hopeful that by the end of the day a judge will grant them a warrant to remove several horses from a local property.

As we've reported, a code enforcement officer thought the horses looked malnourished and the city is now trying to take them away from their owner. The owner claims the horses are sick, not underfed.

The city says the owner is still breaking the law by having more than two horses on a half-acre property.

If a judge grants the warrant we'll be sure to let you know.
