Wanted sex offender arrested by Border Agents while trying to illegally cross into the U.S. from Mexico

Arturo Ramirez, 34, was arrested by United States Border Patrol as he was trying to illegally cross into the U.S. in Deming, New Mexico.

Ramirez is a Mexican citizen who is wanted by the Los Angeles Police Department on a rape charge and a weapons offense charge. 

The warrant was issued in October 22, 2012, and has a bond of $3.2 million. 

Border Agents started the process to deport Ramirez back to Mexico, but he is being held at the La Tuna Correctional Facility while he awaits extradition to Los Angeles to face the charges.
