El Paso City Council voted Tuesday 7 to 1 to approve health benefits for domestic partners.
That means same sex or opposite sex couples who are unmarried will be able receive health benefits so long as they are able to prove they live together.
This issue has been very controversial and some El Pasoans asked that the issue be left up to voters. City council opted not to.
Now, one group of voters say they will force the issue onto a ballot and attempt to force council to rescind the issue.
