Hundreds of people spent their Saturday giving back to the community.

More than 250 volunteers scraped and painted the homes of 10 elderly and disabled residents across the city.

It's part of Project Bravo's 27th annual Paint-A-Thon.

This event is important because paining a home can be very expensive.

"Very often their homes are in disrepair. It doesn't look as nice and so this is something we're able to do to help the community and help the individual so that the homeowner has pride in their homes and feels good about aging in place," said Executive Director Laura Ponce.

Wells Fargo donated $15,000 to Project Bravo to fund the event.

Since 1986, more than 7,800 volunteers have painted the homes of more than 1,800 residents in need.
