LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Crews have been hard at work preparing for the 10th Annual Vans Warped Tour in Las Cruces on Friday.
With temperatures expected to be in the hundreds, free water refills will be provided to everybody who brings in a sealed water bottle at the gate.
"We'll have stations to refill your water bottle," said Miguel Chavez, ASNMSU special events director.
Even in the hundred degree temperatures of late June, the annual festival has consistently brought in about 9,000 fans every year.
"We're expecting about 8,000 to 10,000 people," Chavez said. "It's looking like it's going to be a good turnout."
Chavez said it's the quality of bands the tour brings every year that keeps people coming back and enduring the heat.
"This year we have a couple of big names out there," Chavez said.
Two of the bigger bands this year are The Used and Taking Back Sunday.
Chavez's best advice is to dress comfortably, wear sunscreen and drink lots of water.
