Video Released by Mexican Marines Shows the Moments Leading Up to Alleged Zetas Leader's Arrest
SALTILLO, MEXICO— Mexico's Marines have released video of the moment when they arrested a drug boss connected to the death of a U.S. ICE agent.
On Sunday, Mexico's Navy said they had arrested the alleged regional boss of the Zetas drug gang in connection to the murder of ICE Agent Jaime Zapata, whom was killed when six suspects— all arrested last week— ambushed him and ICE Agent Victor Avila on road between Mexico City and Monterrey. Avila was shot and wounded in the ambush.
The video shows Sergio “El Toto” Mora, the alleged boss of the Zetas in San Luis Potosi, being arrested in a Sunday morning raid at a hotel. Armed Marines are shown running along the corridors of a hotel.
The Mexican statement did not provide details on Mora's role in Zapata's death.
