Victim's Family Raising Funds for Funeral Expenses

Family and friends of 25-year-old Juana Muniz will gather at San Elceario Catholic Church in San Elizario from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday. They will be raising funds for the woman who lost her life in a horrific car accient.

Police say it all happened Monday night around 2 AM. Muniz and 26-year-old Fernando Rodriguez were traveling sound bound on Zaragoza near Gateway East when the two collided in their red Hummer with a grey Honda Accord. The driver in the Accord walked away with minor injuries.

Rodriguez and Muniz were ejected from the sunroof of the hummer and suffered life threatening injuries. Officials say Muniz died Monday night from the injuries she sustained from the accident. Rodriguez is still in critical condition.

Police say alcohol is a factor in this crash. Muniz and Rodriguez were also not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
