The 82nd Airborne Division Association hosted a commemoration Tuesday for World War II veterans who participated in Operation Market Garden in Holland.

During the ceremony, WWII veterans who participated in the campaign were recognized.

Tuesday marked the 69th anniversary of the advance of U.S. troops into Holland.

The vets were delighted to be honored as they recapped some of their time spent in Germany.

"We were in constant contact with the German forces from September 1944 until the end.  We had the longest time in contact with the Germans of any division in europe," said WWII Veteran, Bill Danner.

Danner adds his division liberated two concentration camps, Nordhausen and Mittelbau-Dora, both of which were in Germany.

Since the war, he's been involved in several Holocaust memorials.
