Doña Ana County — Staff with Doña Ana County Vector Control stresses the importance of removing standing water from your property during July’s rainy forecast.
“Staying vigilant about not allowing water to collect on your property is the first line of defense in reducing the mosquito population in Doña Ana County,” said Vector Control Supervisor Kenneth Sholar.
Sholar says rainy July weather makes for prime mosquito-breeding conditions. Mosquitoes can carry West Nile virus, encephalitis and other dangerous diseases.
