EL PASO— The University of Texas at El Paso is planning a special ceremony for the 2011 spring commencement....

UTEP will be bestowing the 100,000th degree in their 97 year history at this year's commencement.

Diana Natalicio, UTEP's president, announced plans for a special ceremony Tuesday morning at a press conference.

The commencement ceremonies will be held May 14 at the Don Haskin's Center.

UTEP is also currently holding their graduation fair at the DeWetter Center from 9:00 a.m. To 6:00 p.m. March 1-3. Graduation candidates can order their caps, gowns, and class rings, as well as purchase and order their announcements and other graduation-related items.

UTEP graduation candidates can also take part in a short video interview that will be used in promotions and advertisements leading up to and during the graduation ceremony.
