UTEP Students Fear Exposure To Tuberculosis

Several students at UTEP fear they have been exposed to Tuberculosis but newschannel 9 has learned it's likely a "false alarm."

Newschannel 9 has been told by University leaders a student emailed his professors saying he had tuberculosis and was being quarantined. That email prompted UTEP to set up testing for students who may have been exposed.

The testing started earlier this week but then new information came about. Further testing showed the student doesn't actually have Tuberculosis. The student had a positive skin test showing he had been exposed to TB but does not have active Tuberculosis.
