EL PASO - A $1.5 million gift is paving the way for a new program at UTEP that will be a model for how engineering is taught around the country.

The Leadership Engineering program is being made possible by Bob Malone, a 2003 Distinguished Alumnus and former CEO of BP America and his wife, Diane, as well as Halliburton, a leading products and services provider to the energy industry.

UTEP announced the gift this morning in the engineering annex building on Hawthorne Street at UTEP.
