EL PASO - A UTEP Professor will be on a NASA mission to an asteroid tomorrow, well at least a simulated one.

UTEP Geologist Jose Hurtado will camp out in a space exploration vehicle for three days to simulate a trip to an asteroid.

He'll be sealed off from the world Thursday at Johnson Space Center in Houston. Then, the vehicle he's in will hover over the floor like a puck on an air-hockey table. This will allow NASA to see how a crew would handle gravity in that situation.
