EL PASO - 80% of the annual energy used at UTEP's facilities complex may be offset by a new renewable energy resource system.

A $1 million grant was given to the university from the Distributed Renewable Energy Technology Program of the Texas State Energy Conservation Office.

The new system will help power electric cars used on campus.

No word of it will be up and running.
