UTEP celebrates third annual "Pick-nic"
All UTEP alumnis will celebrate their miner pride at Memorial Park on Saturday, July 12 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Miner graduates in the El Paso area are invited to spread out their blankets, lawn chairs, and ice chests to share old stories and create new ones.
The Alumni Association will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs, and any event participants are encouraged to bring sides, salads, and desserts as well as their own drinks.
Pick-nicers are asked to wear their miner gear and take plenty of photos and videos of this event. Prizes will be awarded and participants should come ready to belt out their rendition of UTEP's fight song, "Miner Fight".
There are more than 20 scheduled events around the world that let national and international miners show their pride for UTEP.
Other UTEP "Pick-nics" held in the U.S. include Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Orange County, Phoenix, San Antonio, San Diego, and San Francisco.
International "Pick-nics" include Juarez; Zapopan, Mexico; and Thimphu, Bhutan.
