UPDATE: School Teachers Arrested for Drug Possession, Placed on Leave

El Paso, TX — The El Paso County Sheriff's office and the DEA together arrested an elementary school counselor and assistant coach.
59 year-old Raul Gomez and 43 year-old Joe Paul Solis were arrested by El Paso County Sheriff's Deputies on Thursday.
Gomez is an assistant girls basketball coach at Del Valle High School in the Ysleta Independent School District.
Solis is a counselor at Frank Macias Elementary.
Both were arrested on suspicion of possessing cocaine.
YISD spokesperson Pat Ayala told Newschannel 9 Mr. Gomez was placed on administrative leave but submitted his resignation from the district this morning.
Meanwhile, Clint ISD Spokesperson says Solis has been placed on paid administrative lead, pending an investigation.
Sheriff's Deputies also arrested Michael Beltran Saturday night.
He's the head baseball coach at Cathedral High School and is charged with having between 1 and 4 grams of an un-named drug. We were unable to reach Cathedral High School officials.
