Update: Media outlets are reporting that the suspicious package was not a bomb. The item was removed from the scene earlier this evening.
EL PASO- Police and a bomb squad are on the scene of a possible bomb at an auto shop at the corner of Montana and Wooster.
Traffic has been diverted away from an auto body shop in the area, where police tell us a suspicious package was found.
No word yet on if the bomb is active, but a man who works next to the auto shop described to us what he saw.
"They opened it up and what they saw inside was a series of 6 cylinders which they presumes to be C4 wrapped in cellophane, wires coming out of a circuit board, on top of that was a button with what they presumed to be a telephone number," John Rivera.
El Paso has brought Sun Metro buses to the scene to evacuate citizens if the bomb is active. Right now residents nearby are allowed to go back into their homes because police set up a safe perimeter.
