Update: Mayor Gandara & Duntley Turn Selves In

UPDATE:  Just before 7o'clock this morning, Socorro Mayor Willie Gandara Sr. and former YISD board member Mickey Duntley turned themselves in at FBI headquarters in West El Paso in connection with the ongoing FBI public corruption probe.

Gandara Sr. was accompanied by his son Willie Gandara Jr, who is current El Paso county commissioner.

Both men remained tightlipped about the case, letting their lawyers speak for them .

Gandara and Duntley will go before a judge later this afternoon along with eight others named in the indictment.

More than 80 persons of interest have been linked to the FBI investigation, including 35 past or current public officials, 13 lawyers and three current or former judges.
