About 2,800 homes were without power in San Elizario after an alleged drunk driver crashed into a power pole along the 400 block of Mayapan shortly after 1:00 a.m.

El Paso County Sheriff's officials told KTSM 21-year-old Roberto Salgado, Jr., was arrested on the scene after officers determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Salgado crashed his Silver Ford F-150 into a power pole, cutting it in half, then crashed into the front of a home. Salgado was the only person in the truck at the time of the crash.

El Paso Electric restored power two hours after the initial wreck.
