UPDATE: Deputies ID Victims Killed in Fabens Crash

EL PASO - Deputies released the identities of the victims killed in Monday's early morning collision in Fabens. Brittney Leigh Barnes, 25, Candace Denise Barnes, 48 were the two women who were pronounced dead at the scene. Aaron Israel Cardenas, 5, Caiden Matthew Barnes, 4 and one-year-old Bethanie Ann Barnes where the child victims of the deadly crash.

The crash involving two cars and an 18-wheeler was a series of events that all took place within half an hour.

"A minivan coming West lost control control of its vehicle and it ended up on I-10 east in the left lane on its side," Chris Acosta spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said.

Not long after...

"An Expedition traveling East tries to avoid the minivan and at that time it lost control causing it to roll over," Acosta said.

At this point, the minivan with the women and children inside was still on its side when a truck driver sees the debris on the highway and changes lanes not seeing the minivan on time.

"It tried to avoid hitting the minivan on the side and he was not able to so he struck it he hit it and he carried it onto the side shoulder," Acosta said.

The early morning crash shut down I-10 in Fabens, bringing traffic in both direction for hours.

Four people were taken to the hospital.
